My name is Sally Bogle. I set up Transcape in 2008 to provide group facilitation and performance coaching to individuals, teams and organisations, to develop their potential to lead and manage and to effect behavioural and cultural change. Since then I have worked with clients in a wide variety of sectors, including education, manufacturing, property development, student accommodation, hospitality and bio-technology.
I developed my facilitation, training and coaching skills and a strong understanding of group dynamics and organisational development through 10 years working in HR and Learning & Development, culminating in the role of L&D Director at the UNITE Group plc. In this role I was instrumental in developing the use of coaching, mentoring and inquiry-based action learning as a particularly successful combined methodology for the development of senior leaders across the Group. I also coached several members of the senior team and oversaw the development of a Post-graduate Diploma in Student Hospitality Management in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University. In 2007 UNITE’s L&D strategy was short-listed for Best Learning & Development Strategy in the UK HR Excellence Awards.
I have an MSc in Coaching & Development, am a Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and have regular coaching supervision. I broadened my understanding of group dynamics and relations through a year’s study with the Institute of Group Analysis, gaining their Introductory Certificate. I am qualified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and have used this tool extensively with teams and individuals. As well as my work for Transcape, I am an associate of two larger coaching and development consultancies working with blue-chip clients and large public-sector organizations.
I am a trained actor and have a particular interest in theatre improvisation and its relationship to both facilitation and the act of leading. I am also interested in mindfulness techniques, gestalt and complexity theory and how these may impact how we think about leading, learning and change.
